Apple Watch Ultra 3 Brings Record Battery Life, Series 11 Gets a Boost

Apple has unveiled the Apple Watch Ultra 3, marking the biggest battery upgrade yet for the rugged smartwatch line. Alongside it, the Apple Watch Series 11 has also gained improvements, giving users more time away from the charger.

Ultra 3 vs. Ultra 2

The Ultra 3 can last up to 42 hours in normal use, about six hours longer than the Ultra 2’s 36 hours. Both models continue to offer up to 72 hours in low-power mode, but the Ultra 3 delivers a clear edge in everyday performance.

For outdoor enthusiasts, the Ultra 3 handles GPS and workout tracking more efficiently, extending battery life during intensive activities such as hiking or running. Apple has also improved fast charging, making it easier to top up quickly before heading out.

Series 11 Gains

While it can’t match the endurance of the Ultra line, the Apple Watch Series 11 has stepped forward in efficiency. It now delivers up to 24 hours of battery life in standard mode and stretches to around 38 hours with low-power mode enabled. That makes it more practical for users who prefer not to charge daily.

Series 11 also benefits from faster charging speeds, meaning even brief charging sessions provide enough power to get through the day.

The Upgrade Question

Whether to upgrade depends largely on user habits. For adventurers or those frequently away from chargers, the Ultra 3’s extra six hours in normal use could make a noticeable difference. However, for everyday wearers, the Ultra 2 remains a reliable choice.

The Series 11, meanwhile, offers a solid upgrade path for users who want the latest features and longer battery life without committing to the size and ruggedness of the Ultra line.
