Apple’s highly anticipated MacBook Pro redesign featuring OLED displays may face a significant delay, with industry sources now pointing to a possible launch in 2027 instead of the previously expected 2026.
The delay is reportedly linked to challenges in mass-producing OLED panels at the scale and quality Apple demands for its premium laptops. Unlike smaller OLED screens used in iPhones and iPads, MacBook Pro displays require larger panels with higher durability and brightness, making production more complex and expensive.
Apple had been working with display manufacturers, including Samsung and LG, to bring the new OLED MacBook Pro models to market. However, the companies appear to be struggling to meet Apple’s strict quality and yield requirements, prompting the tech giant to push back its timeline.
