September 3, 2025 — Kalamazoo, MI — Bronson Healthcare has announced a sweeping rebrand of its walk-in clinics across southwest Michigan designed to make it easier for patients to choose the right level of care. The familiar Bronson FastCare is now Bronson QuickCare, while Bronson Urgent Care has been rebranded as QuickCare Plus.
Clearer Choices, Better Transparency
With patient feedback in mind, the renaming initiative aims to clarify which services each clinic offers and help patients anticipate their care experience—and costs—more accurately.
Lisa Padgett, Bronson’s Director of Capacity Management, emphasized that improved naming should reduce confusion: “Patients told us they wanted more clarity, so we’re giving them clearer options and expectations.”
What Each Clinic Offers
- Bronson QuickCare handles minor, common ailments such as colds, allergies, minor infections, and rash treatments. It operates during evenings, weekends, and holidays, and includes options like online reservations and video visits. A typical visit costs around $90, though insurance coverage varies.
- Bronson QuickCare Plus expands on QuickCare services and also addresses non-life-threatening injuries such as fractures, sprains, and wound care. These clinics function as hospital outpatient departments—offering on-site diagnostic tests like X-rays and billing comparable to hospital outpatient visits, but generally at a lower cost than emergency department care.
A recent regional example illustrates the broader impact: one Bronson Urgent Care location served more than 19,000 patients since opening, with average wait times under eight minutes and total visits often completed in under an hour.
A Response to Real Concerns
This move also follows investigative reporting highlighting why patients may encounter unexpectedly higher bills at hospital-based urgent care. Unlike independent clinics, hospital-affiliated centers often bill a separate facility fee in addition to physician services—something many patients misunderstand. Bronson’s rebranding helps signal the different billing structure at QuickCare Plus locations compared to QuickCare.
