Google has announced the global rollout of its more affordable AI Plus plan, making it available in over 40 countries. The move is designed to bring powerful artificial intelligence tools to a wider audience, particularly in emerging markets where affordability has long been a barrier.

The AI Plus plan offers a middle ground between free access and higher-priced premium services. Subscribers gain access to Google’s Gemini 2.5 Pro model, creative tools for generating images and videos, enhanced features in NotebookLM for research, and smart integration into productivity apps like Gmail, Docs, and Sheets. The plan also includes 200 GB of cloud storage and allows sharing with up to five family members.
At roughly $5 per month, the pricing is a fraction of what many advanced AI services typically cost. In some markets, Google is offering promotional discounts of up to 50% off for the first six months, lowering the barrier even further for first-time subscribers.
