Kelly Clarkson is set to bring The Kelly Clarkson Show back for its seventh season this fall, following a difficult period marked by the death of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock. Blackstock, who was the father of Clarkson’s two children, passed away on August 7 after a private three-year battle with melanoma.
Earlier this year, Clarkson stepped away from her show to focus on her family, especially to support her children during their father’s illness. In her absence, guest hosts such as Simu Liu, Brooke Shields, and Wanda Sykes helped keep the program going.
Alongside her television break, Clarkson also put her Las Vegas “Studio Sessions” residency on hold, explaining that she needed to be fully present for her children. Performances scheduled for August had already been postponed due to health and emotional strain, with the remainder of the shows now expected to resume in November or be moved to next year.
The show’s planned return signals Clarkson’s resilience and determination to continue connecting with her audience, even as she navigates a period of personal grief. Fans can expect her signature warmth and candid style when the new season begins, as she balances her career with her role as a mother during this challenging chapter of her life.
